APL Limited needed a site similar to FedEx's: one that would allow it's customers to track the progress of their containerized shipping in real time, following it all around the world. On this job, we worked with our favorite programmers who converted APL's enormous legacy databases and Information Systems to web-able versions, and the front end grew around that. The site was immediately popular. It won many transportation industry awards. Reportedly, one of their clients informed one of their competitors, "We aren't working with you again unless you have a website like APL's"!

This site was in use from 1996-1999, and changed remarkably little— it worked well! Fisher & Day eventually designed five sites for APL and their various subsidiaries, including internet, intranet and training sites, until the company was sold to a Chinese National firm.
